ExploreAfter his long years of ministry in Laguna, in 2009, Pastor Sael was appointed as the Christian Education Ministry Director of Philippine Evangelism Center, UPC Makati. While he was teaching the Ladies Ministry class, he was asked by a sister to conduct a home Bible study in her son's house located in Pasay City. With great interest, the pastor gave heed to the invitation, with the desire to evangelize his relatives who lived in the city. To his surprise, the said Bible study was located in the same place where he grew up, in Tramo.
With the accompaniment of his faithful wife, Pastora Mayette, the said work began. A close friend of the said sister attended and desired to also conduct a study in her home in P. Villanueva. As the Bible study continued in her home, God made a way and opened the hearts of those who attended, until a decision was made to accept water baptism in Jesus name. By then, souls were added by the Lord to the fellowship, which paved the way for a desire to plant a church in the city. Revivals and other great things came to pass as worship services began, because the need to minister to the new converts increased. We started conducting worship services on February 7, 2010, in an old restaurant in Libertad, Pasay City. Praise the Lord!
Not liking what had transpired to the small home Bible study, which turned out to be a Pioneering Church, the enemy started to persecute the young church, which was then known as Pasay City Apostolic Tabernacle, UPC. Understanding that the will of the Lord was being done, the pastor decided to let the brethren worship with PEC as he waited and prayed for God's direction for the young flock.
As God's will began to come to pass, He used a sister who was revived as she attended our fellowships in P. Villanueva to allow us to use her home in M. Dela Cruz, Pasay City, for our worship services. Praise the Lord! The young church revived as the blessings of God were poured out upon us as we worshiped Him in Spirit and in Truth. As the Lord continued to move mightily in every service, the enemy again made a way to plant seeds of misunderstanding among the brethren, which turned out to be a major attack against the reviving little flock.
The attack made a way for a decision to stop holding the worship services in M. Dela Cruz because of matters that needed to be dealt with. The pastor again decided to let the young flock worship God with the brethren at PEC, the then headquarters church of UPC Philippines, as he waited and prayed for God's direction and perfect will.
When the proper time came, the Lord used Pastor Sael's friends, who are ministers in another denomination, to invite him to attend a cooperative activity in the Prime Movers Cooperative Function Room, just beside Pasay City Hall. He attended joyfully, mindful of the opportunity of help they offered in our search for a worship service venue. An offer was then made to use the said function room as a worship service venue, which the pastor gladly accepted as God's provision. They then gave Pastor Sael the instructions on how to acquire the said function room for a weekly worship service venue, which the pastor followed as the Lord led him. Wonderful experiences and privileges came as the opportunity to hold our worship fellowship in the Canteen of Pasay City Hall came to pass. Praise our God.
Because of the glorious potential of the pioneering church, another spiritual attack came as the management of the canteen disallowed the church services to be conducted in the venue. But God made a way to transfer us to CK Sy, Diamond Building, which paved the way for our young fellowship to grow in every aspect of our being.
Thus, Grace In-Christ Fellowship Temple (GIFT-UPC Pasay) was born in October 2013 with our vision to be "A Grace Abounding Christian Fellowship that everyone would want to join and be a part of."
